Chapter 4~

Roxas’ POV

I left the employee room after what seemed eternity.  I checked to see if the guys were there already.  Looked like not.  So I got back into the employee room, taking the opportunity to spruce myself up a little bit.  I ruffled my hair, seeing they were getting flat on my head.  I went to the sink and splashed some water into my face, trying to get off the grease that made my face look all dirty.  I looked around for a towel to dry my face, but there wasn’t any.  I just took my own shirt to do the job.  I looked at myslef in the mirror.  I never really liked myself... I look...so young, so innocent.  I scowled at my reflection, but left again the employee room.

2:05 PM

They still weren’t here... Maybe they didn’t want to see me again...? I suddenly felt pretty dumb.  They were nice, but they must not have liked me as I liked them.  I mean, this must have been something they would do with anyone else and everyday, nothing special.  This had been special for me, because I never really did hung out with people... I sighed loudly, but I stayed a little bit...hoping they were going to show up finally.

But I knew they wouldn’t.

Axel’s POV

Remember one of these times you just can’t wait for something and that the time doesn’t seem to pass by?? Well, this was even worse.  Like, you look up at the time, but it just didn’t freaking move! This morning, I woke up WAY too early, well not like the usual anyway.  It’s so LOOOOOOONG! I was supposed to meet Demyx at 1 PM so we could hang out a little before we would pick up Roxas, but I went earlier just because I couldn’t bear the teasing from the clock anymore.

I plugged my earphones in my ears, trying to calm myself a little bit with some music.  I arrived at our meeting spot and sat myself against the wall cooly, looking at everyone passing by.  Then, I felt a light sleep having a hold on me.  I slowly closed my eyes as I listened to my music and leaned my head back to wall.  I felt...so well.  I knew I was going to see my blonde beauty soon enough now.  A light slumber was what I needed to make the time go faster.  Demyx was going to arrive and wake me up when it was going to be the time to go... This was perfect.

But, we all know that this was too perfect to be real. Doh.

Ironically, I woke up as I heard Wake Up Call of Maroon 5 playing in my ears.  I looked around, sure that I was going to see Demyx not too far away.  But I didn’t see any blonde brimful of joy anywhere.  That’s when I looked up for the time.  

2:10 PM

Holy crap.  I was frigging late! Well, 10 minutes late for now! How come Demyx wasn’t here!? I felt panic flow through my body as I got up and ran for the restaurant where Roxas worked.  If I was lucky, he would have finished working late.  But I knew very well this wasn’t going to happen.  This never happens when you want it to.  So I ran, ran and ran.  I was completely breathless and my throat was hurting as heck, but I couldn’t stop.  Not now anyway.  I wanted to see Roxas so bad!

Still running, I got my cell phone out to look at the time.  That’s when I saw I had 6 missed calls...and all were from Demyx.  I dialed his number really fast, though I was running like a crazy.  Rrrrrring! Rrrrrring! C’mon Dem! Rrrrrring!

“Hello?”

“Dem, where the HECK are you??” I almost screamed in my phone.

“I’m getting ready to see Roxas.  I’m leaving like right now.  How come you didn’t answer your phone back then? I wanted to tell you I couldn’t show up at our meeting.” He said innocently.

“Oh well, I fell ASLEEP with my music in my ears! I was counting on you to wake me up!”

“Oh gawd! Sorry... But you’re with Roxas right now, right?” He said, suddenly worried.

“Umpf.  I was sleeping Dem.  And now I’m running like I never did before.  Getting the picture?”

I heard him cursing for the first time of my life and hung up.  I closed my phone, but reopened it, remembering to look at the time.

2:15 PM

Oh crap! It was now sure he wasn’t there anymore! I finally saw the restaurant in front of me and I rushed inside, not seeing him outside.  I arrived at the counter, leaning on it as I tried to catch my breath again.  I caught the first waiter passing by.

“Is...Roxas still here?” I managed to say between two breaths.

“He finished at 2PM... I saw him lingering near the employee room like 5 minutes ago... But he’s not there anymore. He left.” The waiter said nicely, before returning to work.

I let myself falling on the counter completely, pouting like a baby, earning glances from the girls not too far from me.  But I didn’t care.  I missed Roxas.  He left.  He must have thought we didn’t want to see him.  Which was completely false.  I wanted to see his cute little face...so much.  

Then I felt Demyx’s delicate hand on my shoulder.  I burried my head in my arms, facing the counter so he couldn’t see my pouting face.

“We missed him...” I mumbled in my arms.  “By 5 minutes, Dem.”

I don’t know if he could even understand what I was saying... But I didn’t care.  I wasn’t seeing my blond god today.  That was all that was in my head.

But then, I heard a giggle, but not Demyx’s giggle.  It was more beautiful.  Like a wonderful music to my ears.  

“Looks like you were late finally...”

I looked up and saw that in fact Demyx never had been here.  It was my astonishing blonde, Roxas, who was looking at me now, somehow amused.  Also, /he/ was the one who had put his gentle hand on my shoulder.  

“Roxas!” I said surprisedly as he laughed a bit more.  Without thinking, I just took him in my arms. “Man, I thought I wasn’t goin’ to see ya at all.  I’m reallllllly sorry that I was late... I kinda...fell asleep.”

At first, he seemed surprised by my hug, but then he just started giggling again.  

“But...where were you? When I arrived, the waiter said you left...” I asked him, pulling him away from me, finally, looking at his amazing sapphire eyes...

“Oh well, I waited a lil’ bit for you...but seeing that you weren’t showing up...I just left.  But then I remembered that I forgot my watch here.  Luckily, finally.” He said grinning to me.

His smile made my heart jump a little bit.  As if my heart just remembered who was in front of me.  I smiled back at him.  His grin was just forcing me to.  

“Demyx ain’t with ya?” He asked looking around.

At this exact moment, I heard the tinkling of the restaurant’s door as an hurried blonde ran inside...slipping on the just-cleaned floor, gliding on a rather long distance...until he just bumped into a random client.  The client let an outraged shout, but Demyx was just falling to the floor.  However, popping almost from nowhere, someone just caught him almost an inch away from the floor.  The blonde, who had his eyes shut tightly for a moment now, was waiting for the impact...which never seemed to arrive.  He popped one of his eyes open, only to see rather dark blue hair falling over midnight blue eyes.  Both his eyes widened a bit.  That’s when I recognized the guy from the ice-cream stand.  The emo-looking guy.

“Whoa! You have, like, awesome reflexes!?” I heard Demyx say.

Roxas and I went over to see what was happening.  The emo guy just finally pulled Demyx up to stand.  

“Hey, you’re working at the ice-cream stand, right?” Demyx said recognizing the guy.

I saw the smaller of the two blushing... Wait... Why...was he blushing?

The dark-haired boy nodded.

“Aw, man! Well, nice to meet you! I’m Demyx, but call me Dem if you feel like it.” He said friendly, winking at him.

I saw more blushing appearing on his cheeks.  Aw man... Was this really what I was thinking???

“I-I’m... Zexion.” He said rather quietly. Anyway compared to Demyx.

“Thanks Zexy for...catching me there” Dem said, already adopting the nickname.

More flush appearing... Wasn’t Dem seeing it also? So obvious...

“No big deal” Zexion said again, looking to the ground.

“Oh! I gotta make it up for you! No arguing!” The blonde said suddenly... Did he have something in mind? It was looking like it anyway.  Dem wasn’t acting very well, you know?

Okay, if it would have been possible, the small one would have turned redder.  

“Hey guys, we’ll see each other another time, alright? I’ve gotta find something for Zexy here.” He said grinning, looking at Roxas and me.

We both nodded, though I was seeing the poor emo guy looking in disbelief at Dem.  Aw man, he didn’t know what he was going to undergo with the too-joyful man.

“Nice to see you again, Roxas.  See ya soon, guys!”

Demyx turned his back to us, grabbed the other guy by the hand and dragged him outside.  That’s when I noticed it.  He left me alone with my amazingly cute Roxas... /Alone/.  Like in ‘no one else’.  At first, I wasn’t sure if I was ready yet.  Okay, you might think like ‘Hey, what are you talking about!? Not ready? Doh. What a jerk.’ But, he was making me feel so...dizzy and puffy inside.  I didn’t know what could happen...

I felt blue eyes staring at me.  My cheeks heated up a little bit.  Aw, come on man! You’re not blushing, are you!? What the heck was happening to me?  Never have I found myself blushing in front of someone.  /I/ was the one making the people blush!  And he is just looking at me!  Gawd, what a pussy...

“So um... What we gonna do?” I heard his soft voice asking me.

“Well, um... We could just hang out...or maybe do some skating, you know...” I said.  But I saw something in his eyes telling me that there was something wrong.  So I just went on.  “What about some basketball? This should be just fine!”

“Great! But I’m not one big player so...” He said looking somehow shy about it.

“Aw, c’mon.  I’m not that great anyway.” I said, winking at him.

He smiled at me, his cheeks of a soft pink.  Aw gawd, did he have to be sooooo cute?
